What is Left Field NYC?
Left Field NYC is a clothing brand that creates pieces that our grandfathers would be proud of. Founded by Christian McCann in 1998, the brand was first inspired by the Japanese obsession with Americana. A style where garments of character and substance thrive. From the brand’s beginnings in Brooklyn to its current status as a cornerstone of Made-in-America culture, Left Field NYC has shown its commitment to representing quality, consistency, and history.
Paying homage to the hard-working ethos of American laborers, particularly coal miners, Left Field NYC incorporates nods to this rugged history in its branding. From headlamp patches to pick-axe and shovel motifs on buttons, every detail reflects the grit and determination of past workers. Even their flagship store’s decor speaks to this heritage, making it a unique place to shop.
The heart of Left Field NYC’s offerings is their top-quality, five-pocket jeans, which have become celebrated in American raw denim. They source a lot of their raw denim from Japanese mills like Nihon Menpu & Collect Mills, a mill in Xinjiang, China, and now Vidalia Mills in the USA. While other countries weave some materials, they piece together all products here in the USA.
However, Left Field NYC isn’t solely about denim. They offer a range of American-made clothes, including undergarments, tees, sweaters, chinos, workwear, westernwear, and outerwear. Each piece is crafted with care and attention to detail, ensuring that every garment is built to last.
