T-shirts nowadays are not the same ones that you could buy 30 years ago. Often made of a mixture of lightweight, breathable materials, they may not stand the test of time. In the 1990s and early 2000s, t-shirts were often made of 90-100% cotton, which gave them properties that allowed them to look great 20-30+ years later. Such as the ability to hold the graphic print on the tee for longer than usual periods due to the absorbing and surface dynamics of cotton. In today’s article, I am going to list three of my favorite Vintage T-shirt Blanks (the product on the tag of the t-shirt) that will last you a long time.
Gilden Ultra Heavyweight Cotton (1999 – 2005)
These Blanks are still produced today but are not made of the same materials as they once were. From the 1990s through the early 2000s, they produced tons of these blanks. They have a normal to slightly larger fit. I have a few of these shirts in my wardrobe, and they age like fine wine.
Aussie Tee Company Natural Heavy Cotton (1990s)
To my knowledge, these t-shirts are no longer produced. They run large and boxy, so I recommend downsizing one size. They are the most heavy cotton tees I have ever put on and hold the graphics details like no other.
Fruit of the Loom Heavy Cotton (1990s – early 2000s)
These are probably the most prolific tees on this list. They have a slightly slimmer, regular fit – similar to the ones produced today. These aren’t the heaviest tees but punch above their weight in longevity.
